About Anita Barnes

Yoga has been a part of my life for more than 40 years. In the 1970s, I observed my Mother twisting her body into strange positions and the strength and serenity that a regular yoga practice awarded her.

I have been a yoga student since the 1980s and I’ve been teaching yoga since 1998.

A regular Yoga and Meditation practice has transformed my life by providing me with simple tools that have kept my challenging back pain free and have helped me manage my depression and anxiety. Yoga has become a way of life.

I retired in 2019 from a 32-year community mental health and law career and moved from Toronto to Picton, Ontario, in July 2019 with my husband, Ben. I taught at a Yoga studio in Toronto for over 12 years and had my own Yoga studio (Leslieville Yoga) for over 10 years. I opened County Yoga Loft in May 2020.

I look forward to seeing you on the mat!
